SPORT EQUIPEMENTS.

Chambéry's Metropolitan Swimming Pool.

The Grand Chambéry Agglomeration Community initiated the construction of a contemporary aquatic center, intended to serve the entire agglomeration. This project is located on the site of a former summer swimming pool, near a stadium.

The ALN Atelien Architecture agency, based in Milan and Paris, won the competition for this project and chose to collaborate with MADIGNIER ARCHITECTE for the Development and Execution of Work (DET) phase. The design of the center is inspired by the industrial history of the evolving neighborhood, combining a metallic exterior facade with soft wood interior finishes. The main structure of the pools is entirely made of wood.

Inside, the complex has several pools, including a 25-meter sports pool with 8 lanes, as well as pools dedicated to leisure and learning, and a wellness area. The outdoor space includes a large 50-meter stainless steel pool, equipped with swimming lanes and bubble seats, a pentagliss, and a splashpad. The project also integrated the issue of underground pollution, requiring special foundations, and had to manage the infiltration of rainwater in a complex geological context

School Gymnasium in Lyon region.

At the Evariste Galois middle school in Meyzieu, Madignier Architecte (Lyon) completed a sports evolution room, primarily designed to function as a dojo.

Measuring 18.0 x 18.0 meters, the structure is characterized by a wooden frame and glued-laminated timber beams. The exterior cladding is made of composite panels based on wood and expanded metal strips, creating a visual effect of metallic gray in irregular stripes, a subtle reference to the belts of judokas on their kimonos.

The project also included changing rooms, restrooms, and storage spaces tailored to the specific needs of the sporting activity.
